"Advancement of the scientific study of language" being the primary object of the Linguistic Society of India (LSI), the All-India Conferences of Linguists (AICLs) are held annually for promoting dialogue and interaction among researchers in the field from India and abroad.
The 31st AICL is likewise being organized by the LSI at the University of Hyderabad, Hyderabad, India, during 15-17 December, 2009, with the University of Hyderabad, the Central Institute of Indian Languages (CIIL) and the International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT Hyderabad) as co-sponsors.
